Adventure to the deep south – where the rainforest meets the beach!
Deep in the south of Costa Rica, far away from all other tourist highlights, lies Drake Bay on the west coast of the spectacular Osa Peninsula. A remote destination, ideal for those seeking an authentic connection with nature. Drake Bay, is a region where the tropical rainforest meets the sea, creating scenic landscapes of impressive nature. National Geographic Magazine has declared the area one of the most biologically intense places on the planet.
There you can appreciate the rich wildlife that can easily be observed. Scarlet macaws, toucans, monkeys, sloths, coatis, agouties and tapirs are some of the animals you can encounter. Corcovado National Park is located here, a jewel in the crown of nature, with virgin beaches, lush trees, and a large concentration of wildlife. In its coastal waters, you can spot humpback whales between July and August. Dolphins, rays, sea turtles, tuna, and other species.
Long, wild and deserted sandy beaches lined with palm trees and dense rainforest invite you to sunbathe, walk, and swim. Don’t expect beach loungers or typical beach resorts—this region is for true nature lovers who seek solitude, untouched beaches and fiery sunsets far away from any touristy coastal town.
A transportation will pick you up at your hotel in the Central Valley and take you to the airport, depending on your flight schedule. Upon arrival at Drake Bay Airport, a representative from your lodge will be waiting to transfer you to your accommodations.
Note: When getting off or back onto the boat at the beach, you will most likely be standing in knee-deep water. Please prepare accordingly with appropriate footwear and clothing.
